Welcome message
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the GSC22 Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to participate in the 22nd Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC22) conference, scheduled from 13 – 17 July 2020 at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. This conference is organized by Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Thailand and Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC)
We also wish to express our deepest gratitude for your participation and cooperation in driving successful outcomes toward Genomic Standards for Precision Medicine, Agriculture, Comparative Genomics, and Metabolomics.
We look forward to a successful event and encourage you all to be engaged, excited and inspired at GSC22 in Bangkok in July 2020.
Yours sincerely,

About GSC22
Rationale:
We have a novel proposition to host the GSC22 conference as a collective/collaborative event in Thailand and the South-East Asian region. This conference bid is from a national cooperation from the Mahidol University and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, two leading research institutions in Thailand. Thailand and Southeast-Asia region represent one of the fastest growing regions globally, especially in science and technology. Many leading Universities, research institutions and companies involved with genomics, especially in the medical, food, agriculture, manufacturing and marketing, have their presence in the ASEAN region. This conference involves standardizing, maintaining the diversity of topics that regularly feature at the Society’s annual conference, while including new topics that are of particular interest to Asian researchers such as traditional medicine, tropical health, agriculture and food and these may fascinate new scientists to the field of genomics research.
GSC22 will focus on:
This meeting is intended for professionals within the fields of medical genomics, agriculture, comparative genomics, Metagenomics, and metabolomics tackling metadata challenges related to the sample collection, processing and genomic sequencing workflow critical for small and large scale datasets. It is our intention to discuss and plan for evolving genomic and laboratory standards to address the needs of the clinical, academic and industry researchers with a focus on precision medicine and agriculture.
GSC22 Theme:
– Genomic Standards for Precision Medicine
– GSC Current & Evolving Standards
– Standards Perspectives from Publishing and Databases
– Genomic Standards for Metabolomics
– Genomic Standards for Agriculture Microbiomes
– Genomic Standards for Comparative Genomics
